A type of home for every type of Lady

Similar to how we analyzed clothing styles, let’s not forget that Businesswomen, Understated, YéYés, Creatives etc. will furnish their homes differently. We need to also consider each Lady’s age and the fact that some homes might be passed down from their parents, and therefore they will have that obligatory antique touch. Or, some might have a new home, but their furnishings were passed down. Generally speaking, the Understated live in homes with a classic, moderate feel.

Businesswomen are a bit more creative, and they might also dare to select some modern pieces. We could see something new paired with an otherwise classic aesthetic. YéYé homes are generally more modern. They will pull together super contemporary pieces with antiques. There might be the inherited painting here and there alongside contemporary artwork. They will have daring, empty and minimal spaces as well as “loaded” and opulent corners, and they might even select bright colors. This is the group that is most influenced by foreign trends, but they know how to mix them very well by relying on their Italian aesthetic.  Single men’s homes, straight or gay, are generally quite dark and relatively minimal. Or, just the opposite, they might be furnished to the nines and full of impactful objects. They are the most beautiful to look at. The Armani Casa style is gorgeous, stunning, and prestigious to live in. It has an abundance of black, taupe, greige (beige+grey), and bronze. It’s a man’s favorite style. Living in a house like this for a woman, especially if she has children, is quite challenging, but the aesthetic is lovely.

In general, however, fine materials always prevail. The precision craftsmanship should always shine through. Beautiful homes are striking because they are made to measure.

My house is not necessarily opulent, but it is well above average in its details. I actually didn’t even have to decorate it. We found it just as it is, and we fell in love with it immediately. I like to daydream about it getting photographed and published in a prestigious interior design magazine. Don’t we all? I live downtown in Milan in a modern building from the 1960s. We have three bedrooms, a spacious living room, a dining room, a large kitchen, and three bathrooms. We have two entrances. Alas, I don’t have a terrace…but I do somewhat manage to survive without one. It has a modern-classic style, very light and airy. More details to come.
